Freshman records Huskers’ first sack of the season (Big Red Report)

There are a lot of young guys getting playing on this Nebraska defense, including 6’2, 300 pound defensive tackle Maliek Collins out of Kansas City. Collins saw time in the Wyoming game, but didn’t have any stats. Last week, he produced NU’s first sack of the season, a 10-yard loss of USM quarterback Allan Bridgford.  He also forced a fumble on the sack that was recovered by the Golden Eagles. He totaled three tackles in the win.

Collins said getting the first sack doesn’t give him bragging rights over the older guys. In fact, Collins says he has to give credit to everyone for helping him get ready to play at this level.
