Protesters gather at Congressman Terry’s Omaha office

About 50 people gathered outside Nebraska’s 2nd District Congressman Lee Terry’s office in Omaha today to voice their concerns about the federal government shutdown.

John Jensen helped to organize the event and says all the groups are taking part are asking Congressman Terry to vote to end the government shutdown with a clean bill to fund our government. He stated that Americans nationwide are feeling the impact of this shutdown and that everyone is outraged this shutdown continues. He says it is shameful that families of those killed in the line of duty to our country had to rely on charity instead of receiving death benefits. He says the shutdown is causing inadequate heath inspections, national parks closed, head start closed and nutrition programs for infants are now out of funding. He says all of this is unacceptable.

One supporter of Congressman Terry says he is working hard in Washington and hard on bills to fund our military, our National Transportation and Safety Commission and many others government organizations that serve the people.

This was one of many protests at district congressional offices to voice frustration over the government shutdown.
