After a scoreless opening 45 minutes, four second-half goals from the 24th-ranked Nebraska soccer team kept the Huskers atop the Big Ten standings with a 4-0 road victory against Purdue on Friday night. Four different players scored for the Huskers. Senior Jordan Jackson registered a five-point performance in the match with a goal and three assists. It marks the fifth time in Jackson’s career in which she has amassed five points in one match. Jackson’s 31st career tally moves the senior into eighth place alone among all-time goal scorers at Nebraska.
NU has won eight of its last nine matches and move to 5-1-0 in the conference, including an impressive 3-0-0 on the road in Big Ten play. The Huskers scored four goals on the road in league play for the first time in two years. The shutout victory is also the fourth of the year for Nebraska, the most since 2010.
Nebraska soccer will finish out its regular-season road schedule next weekend with visits to No. 20 Wisconsin on Friday, Oct. 18 and Minnesota on Sunday, Oct. 20
