A handshake and a couple of signatures and a new partnership between Iowa and Nebraska is formed that will help draw economic development to the Omaha – Council Bluffs metro area. Both Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman and Iowa Governor Terry Branstad made the announcement today in Omaha.
The Advance Southwest Iowa Corp and the Greater Omaha Development Partnership will now work together to build and market the area to potential businesses.
Governor Heineman stated, “A strong regional economy benefits both Iowa and Nebraska. We’re both on the move and want to do even better in the future.” He also stated that potential businesses looking at the area now have more choices.
Governor Branstad said, “We are in global competition these days and state lines mean nothing.” He says this partnership will allow the entire geographic region to be successful.
The partnership was signed this morning in Omaha.
