Nebraska can’t finish, Penn State picks up first B1G win

Just as the Huskers were picking up some steam following a big home win against Ohio State, they let a late lead slip away as Penn State rallied for a 58-54 win Thursday night.

The Huskers held a four-point lead with 2:24 to play, but the Nittany Lions used an 11-3 run down the stretch to pick up their first conference win of the season. The player that coach Tim Miles was most concerned about, Tim Frazier, had to much to say about the outcome.

The Huskers were up 51-50 when Frazier stole the ball from Deverell Biggs and found teammate D.J. Newbill who scored and was fouled. After a missed shot by NU, Penn State answered with a three-point with 18 seconds left to go up 56-51.  Terran Pettaway answered with a three and then NU forced a turnover on the inbound pass, but the Huskers turned the ball over down by two, and Frazier was fouled, hitting both free throws.

Frazier finished with 11 points, nine rebounds and six assists.

Terran Pettaway led NU with 15 points, Ray Gallegos with 10.
