Suspect in western Nebraska bank robbery caught shortly after heist

A suspect doesn’t get far after allegedly robbing a western Nebraska bank.

The suspect in a Friday morning bank robbery in Sidney has been arrested, shortly after the robbery.

Police Chief BJ Wilkinson confirms the suspect was apprehended on the east side of town without incident. Wilkinson has not released the name yet, but confirmed the suspect is a female and was armed with a small handgun.

Police responded to Sidney Federal Savings and Loan about 9:20 Friday morning (MT) on a report that a female wearing a stocking cap had robbed the bank. The suspect was described as getting away in a grey Chevy Lumina and armed with a gun in a holster.

No word on how much, if any, money was taken in the robbery or charges filed yet against the suspect.
