Layoffs impact workers at collapsed Omaha facility

The collapse at International Nutrition in Omaha earlier this month forced the production of product to be outsourced. The company announced until the structure can be torn down and then rebuilt, they are left with no other choice but to lay off 25 employees. Officials with the company say all affected employees did receive a severance package and their Human Resources department is helping with any questions they may have. The Nebraska Department of Labor is helping those impacted apply for unemployment benefits.

Company officials say they continue to do business by outsourcing production and that is allowing them to retain employees to handle customer orders.

International Nutrition plans to rebuild the facility. Hey also hope to rehire those employees impacted now by the layoff.
