Bellevue teen tells FBI she left home on her own

Michaela WellsBellevue police report a missing teen-ager found safe in Indianapolis told federal agents she left her home voluntarily and was not taken against her will to Indiana.

The Bellevue Police Department has issued a news release that sheds a bit more light on the disappearance of 16-year-old Michaela Wells, found safe at a residenceĀ in Indianapolis.

The department says Michaela was found with a male juvenile at a home in Indianapolis by FBI Agents, alerted when it was determined Michaela left the state. The teen-ager told agents she had left her home in Bellevue Sunday night on her own.

Her parents reported her missing Monday after she failed to return from taking out the garbage Sunday evening.

Michaela is now in the custody of the Indiana Division of Family and Children.

The Bellevue Police Department and the FBI are working together to return Michaela to her home.
