Troopers seized nearly 50 pounds of marijuana during two traffic stops on Interstate 80.
The Nebraska State Patrol reports a trooper stopped a pick-up for failing to signal a turn near the Roscoe exit on I-80. A drug dog led to a search of the vehicle. Just over 32 pounds of marijuana was found in 39 packages located in two duffel bags in the pick-up tool box.
The driver, 38-year-old Joseph Causey of Muscatine, IA, faces drugs charges in Keith County.
The second seizure came at a rest area near the Roscoe exit on I-80.
A search of a car parked at the rest stop began after a drug dog indicated drugs were present. The search found nearly 15 pounds of marijuana in two suitcases in the trunk.
A passenger in the car, 30-year-old John Peregrine of Madison, WI, has been charged in Keith County for possession and intent to sell.
