Senior Taylor Edwards was named the Big Ten Player of the Week after going 4-for-7 with five runs scored and four RBIs in Nebraska’s three-game sweep of Ohio State last weekend. Three of Edwards’ four hits went for extra-bases, including a pair of home runs, as she slugged 1.571 in the series. She also drew four walks in the three games and was hit by one pitch, helping her post a .750 on-base percentage.
Edwards went 1-for-3 with an RBI, a walk and two runs scored in game one of the series before enjoying a productive doubleheader the next day. Edwards went 3-for-4 with one double, two homers, three walks, one hit-by-pitch, three RBIs and three runs scored in the doubleheader. She led off game one of the doubleheader with her 50th career home run, becoming just the second Husker to reach that mark. She also opened the scoring in game two with her Big Ten-leading 15th homer of the season.
Nebraska has a season-high seven-game winning streak and will travel to Omaha to take on the Creighton Bluejays at 6 p.m.
