Chadron State softball sets record for wins in the season

Chadron State gave up six runs in the bottom of the sixth and lost 9-1 to Mesa State during the second day of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Softball Championship. The loss eliminated Chadron State from the conference tournament. The Eagles end their season with a record of 28-23, a school record for victories in a season.

Chadron State’s Shea Graham managed to put the Eagles up 1-0 in the top of the third when Rebecca Wetsch roped a single down the left field line. After that, Chadron State’s offense struggled. The Eagles’ only hit was Wetsch’s RBI single and Metro State’s Cassidy Smith had to throw just 70 pitches in her complete game victory.
