Members of Nebraska’s Blue Knight’s Motorcycle Club, a group for law enforcement officers, will be hitting the open road tomorrow. Omaha Police Officer Corey Clements is the Vice President of the Omaha Chapter and says their members and those from several other organizations from across the state will meet in Grand Island at the Law Enforcement Memorial at Fonner Park. He says this is an “east meets west” event and that riders statewide will be taking part.
Officer Clements says the annual event brings attention and recognition to Nebraska officers who have paid the ultimate price and have died in the line of service. He says several names will be added to the memorial this year and there will be a brief ceremony to honor and remember.
Officer Clements says the Law Officer Memorial is funded totally by private donations and funds from this ride will benefit the memorial.
This is the sixth annual Nebraska Law Ride. Officer Clements says the number of riders depends on the weather but in past years several hundred have taken part.
