A suspect wanted in a Scottsbluff hit-and-run this morning is being treated at a local hospital.
Scottsbluff police say the accident was reported at about 4:50 AM and involved a white Dodge pickup.
About an hour later, the truck was spotted in town and it fled, leading officers on a pursuit.
The suspect, 28-year-old John Alsidez of Scottsbluff, apparently jumped out of the moving truck and was arrested after a short foot chase and struggle.
The truck crashed into a fence and front steps of a home. Turns out the truck was reported stolen from a Scottsbluff home.
Alsidez is being treated at Regional West Medical Center and will be booked on nine charges once he’s released according to police. They include motor vehicle theft, leaving the scene, 2nd offense DUI, 4th offense driving under suspension, fleeing police and possession of a controlled substance.
