Congressman Brad Ashford ran unopposed in the Democratic primary election for the 2nd District Congressional seat, but he now faces Republican winner Don Bacon in the General Election. Ashford says he has a strategy in place.
Ashford says, “I think the campaign is all about contrast. We’ll continue to talk about what we campaigned on last time and that is working across the aisle to fix the problems. I believe that is what we have done, certainly with the veterans and the runway. Those are the promises we made and we will continue to do it. I think the campaign will be about that.”
When asked if other Democratic candidates, like Hillary Clinton would come to Nebraska to campaign for him, Ashford rejected that notion. He says, “I don’t want anybody to campaign for me. I think it is all about who can work across the aisle and bring solutions to Washington. I think that is the issue.”
Ashford also congratulated Bacon on his win.
