Lincoln Police Chief Jeff Bliemeister says a family member of one of the three called police Sunday afternoon when they went to check on their relative.
“They went inside. They discovered two of the bodies, called the Lincoln Police Department. We responded and in the course of securing the scene and determining if medical response was needed, we determined that there were three people inside,” Bliemeister told reporters at a morning briefing.
The deceased are 50 year old Ronald Heritage and 53 year old Tina Jensen, who Bliemeister said were dating, and 55 year old Norma Voges, who was a long-time friend.
Officers found a gun at the scene.
“Evidence collected suggests the gun was discharged inside of the home,” Bliemeister said. “The cause of death for all three is pending the completion of autopsies and follow-up investigation. The Lincoln Police Department is not searching for additional people involved in this incident.”
