Nebraska opens a Big Ten series against Indiana to close out the regular season. Both teams are headed to the conference tournament but the battle for seeding is still raging. At 13-8, the Huswkers are tied for third with Ohio State entering the final weekend while the Hoosiers (15-6) are a half game behind Big Ten leading Minnesota.
Both teams are still in the hunt for the Big Ten regular-season title as well. The Huskers would need to sweep the Hoosiers and have Ohio State sweep Minnesota for the Huskers to tie the Buckeyes for the regular-season crown. The Hoosiers have multiple scenarios to win the regular season title, including one where they only need to win just one game this weekend. The only way they definitely can’t win the title this weekend is if they are swept or if Minnesota sweeps Ohio State.
The Huskers and Hoosiers have met 14 times dating back to 1899 and the Hoosiers hold a slim 8-6 advantage in the series. The Hoosiers have won the last two meetings, and both were for the Big Ten Tournament title.
