Local and federal investigators say credit and debit card information from customers at two Siouxland banks has been stolen.
Police are working with the FBI to locate anyone connected with the so-called skimmer devices that were found on automatic teller machines.
They were installed on the outside of an ATM at an Iowa-Nebraska State Bank branch and an ATM at a Pinnacle Bank branch, both in Sioux City, Iowa.
Police say some of the stolen financial data was used to make fraudulent charges, but most of those charges were made outside of Siouxland.
Authorities won’t say how many customers of the two banks may have been impacted, only that the number is “significant.”
