Former Nebraska standouts Eric Crouch and Zach Wiegert are on the ballot for the next College Football Hall of Fame class.
Crouch was the 2001 winner of the Heisman trophy as well as the Walter Camp and Davey O’Brien award winner. He led the Huskers to the Rose Bowl and an appearance in the national championship. Crouch led the Huskers to a 42-9 record ands four bowl berths.
Wiegert was a 1994 first team All-American and the winner of the Outland Trophy. He was part of the Huskers’ 1994 national championship team.
They are two of 75 players and six coaches on the ballot from the Football Bowl Subdivision. The announcement of the 2017 class will be made on January 6 in Tampa, Florida, as part of championship weekend for the College Football Playoff.
