Gov. Pete Ricketts has appointed Ricky Schreiner to the District Court of the First Judicial District Court of Nebraska.
Schreiner, who is 53, has been the Chief Deputy County Attorney for Gage County since 2007.
Schreiner previously worked in private practice at Fankhauser, Nelsen & Werts, P.C. in Nebraska City. He also served as a Nebraska City police officer and an Otoe County Sheriff’s Department deputy.
The First Judicial District consists of Clay, Fillmore, Gage, Jefferson, Johnson, Nemaha, Nuckolls, Pawnee, Richardson, Saline, and Thayer counties. The primary place of office for the judicial vacancy is Beatrice, Gage County, Nebraska.
Schreiner replaces Judge Paul Korslund, who has retired.
