A 27 year old Omaha man was gunned down on the streets of Washington DC early Sunday morning. Seth Rich was found police making their rounds close to his home. Rich had been shot in the back several times. Police say he was awake and talking when they arrived but later died at a hospital.
Rich worked for the Democratic National Committee where he served as the director of voter expansion. He was a graduate of Omaha’s Central High School and Creighton University with a degree in political science. He also served as an intern for former Nebraska U.S. Senator Ben Nelson.
Washington DC police say there were no witnesses to the shooting and no arrests have been made. The investigation continues.
