The Omaha Storm Chasers pushed across a run in the bottom of the seventh and went on to edge Las Vegas 2-1 in Pacific Coast League action. The Storm Chasers got a quality start from Christian Binford as he gave up only one run and four hits in six innings of work.
“He utilized his fast ball on both sides and he was throwing his off speed stuff for strikes”, said Omaha manager Brian Poldberg. “He left a couple of balls up and maybe got away with them but for the most part had control of all his pitches and did a good job.”
Relievers Clay Mortenson and Andrew Edwards combined for three scoreless innings. The bullpen duo continued the strong stretch run for Chasers relievers over their last 17 games. In that span, Omaha’s bullpen has combined for a 7-1 record.
The Series continues this afternoon as the teams meet in a 12:05 p.m. game.
