Will the Huskers be the next team to bounce back from a disappointing season and dominate the Big Ten West? That was the question posed to Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz at Big Ten Media Day.
After a 4-8 finish in 2014 the Hawkeyes dominated the division race last season in posting a 12-0 regular season mark. Nebraska has an experienced team coming back from a 6-7 record in Mike Riley’s first season as head coach.
“Just look at how many close games they were involved in and how close they were to having a really fruitful year”, said Ferentz. That’s the nature of college football and having a senior quarterback is a helpful thing.”
The Huskers open the season September 3, at home against Fresno State.
