An administrator for the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services has resigned over allegations she became overly familiar with a parolee.
NDCS has announced the resignation of Dr. Lisa Jones, behavioral health administrator.
NDCS says the resignation came Friday as the department investigated into allegations into “over-familiarity with a parolee.”
The Nebraska State Patrol is investigated the extent of the relationship.
“There is zero tolerance for unprofessional relationships with inmates and this is no exception. The department has been working diligently to streamline and increase the availability of treatment services over the last year,” Nebraska Corrections Director Scott Frakes said in a written statement released by NDCS. “While upsetting, I am confident this will not alter our course or diminish our commitment to transforming behavioral health services within NDCS.”
Dr. Alice Mitwaruciu, assistant behavioral health administrator, will pick up Jones’ workload. A search for a permanent replacement is underway.
