The Bellevue city administrator may be out of a job after tonight’s city council meeting.
Last June, Dan Berlowitz was cited for disturbing the peace, third degree assault and second degree trespassing after an incident at a dentist’s office where his wife had been terminated. Berlowitz is accused yelling and pushing the dentist before leaving.
Councilperson Carol Blood says there is a recommendation on tonight’s agenda to dismiss Berlowitz. She says, “I can tell you we have an H-R policy. I can tell you that he has a contract and as a member of the American Society for Public Administration, he also has a personal code of ethics he has chosen to follow as guidelines for us to critique him. Those are all things that will be taken into consideration this evening.”
Blood says one of the issues they will consider is that confrontation happened on city time. No one was hurt in the confrontation but the dentist claims he was pushed and threatened. Berlowitz later turned himself in to the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Officer where he was cited.
