The City of Bellevue is searching for a new city administrator after the City Council voted unanimously Monday to terminate Dan Berlowitz. Berlowitz has been on administrative leave since June when he was citied for third-degree assault, second-degree trespassing and disturbing the peace.
The citations stem from a confrontation at a dentist’s office, the former employer of Berlowitz’s wife. Apparently her employment had been terminated and Berlowitz went to confront the dentist that resulted in an argument. Berlowitz is accused of shoving and poking the dentist during the confrontation. He then left the office but later turned himself in to the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office where he was cited.
Bellevue will appoint an acting city administrator while start a search to fill the position.
