The Nebraska offense has prepared for a variety of looks heading into Saturday night’s season opener against Fresno State. Lorenzo Ward is the Bulldog’s new defensive coordinator after spending several years on the staff at South Carolina.
“That first game is always hard especially when they have a change like that”, said Husker offensive coordinator Danny Langsdorf. “There will be some things that will be unknown to us that we will have to cover on the fly but there is definitely the unknown that is tough in the first game.”
Langsdorf says over the years Fresno State has been known as a defense that likes to bring pressure.
“That has been a big emphasis for us is being able to handle pressure and we always feel like if you are not able to handle it you are just going to keep getting it.”
No matter what type of defense they may face senior quarterback Tommy Armstrong says he is much more comfortable heading into the second season with this coaching staff.
“How much more familiar I am with the playbook”, said Armstrong. “Not only myself but as a team I think we are a lot more confident going into the season this year than we were last year.”
