Very little is being officially released this morning, but reports have surfaced in Cass County that a sheriff’s deputy shot and apparently wounded a motorist he attempted to stop in Louisville.
Reports of emergency radio traffic indicate the deputy attempted to stop the driver on 1st Street, near the Louisville High School. The vehicle apparently started to pull over, then began to pull away.
The deputy called for medical crews after reporting shots had been fired. The deputy reported the motorist had been wounded, at first indicating he couldn’t find a pulse. Though a medical helicopter was dispatched to the scene, it later was canceled. The condition of the motorist is not yet known.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office has refused comment. No official report has been issued.
