A 29-year-old Papillion motorist was killed in an early morning car crash on I-80 in Omaha when he failed to make a curve, lost control of his car, which rolled and threw him in the path of oncoming traffic where he was struck by another vehicle.
Omaha police report Lucio Lazo-Romero died at the scene, near I-80 and I Street.
The Omaha Police Department says Lazo-Romero was driving west on I-80 around 2:30 Monday morning. He lost control on a curve just north of I Street. His car rolled in the median. Lazo-Romero, who wasn’t wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the car into the path of traffic.
Omaha Fire Department medics pronounced Lazo-Romero dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation. The investigation continues.
