Omaha Creighton Prep came up short in trying to become the second team from Nebraska to win the American Legion World Series. PI Midwest, their Legion team name, lost 4-3 to Brooklawn, NJ in a double elimination tournament in Shelby, NC.
Evan Ryan drove in all three of Prep’s runs and he threw a runner out at home in the second inning. The only Nebraska team to ever win the Legion title was in 1939, the Omaha McDevitts, which also had players from Creighton Prep.
