Chadron State football was picked as the top team in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, according to their preseason poll. The Eagles have won three straight RMAC titles and have a 27 game conference winning streak. They received six first place votes ahead of second place Colorado School of Mines and Nebraska-Kearney who was picked third, received one first place vote.
Beechner stepping down at UNK

Dick Beechner is leaving the University of Nebraska-Kearney and the men’s golf program on Aug. 1st. Beechner has been at UNK for 22 years. He was the athletic director from 1987 - 1996 and was the men’s golf coach the last 13 seasons.
