There are no more excuses not to learn C-P-R. The Heartland Chapter of the American Red Cross in Omaha has developed a new program where you can learn this lifesaving technique in an hour. C-E-O Tina Price says this program was developed right here in Omaha and if it is successful here, they will roll it out to the 800 Red Cross Chapters in /America. Price says this is not the full blown lifesaving course that takes several sessions to master. This course was developed specifically for that person who wants the knowledge to save the life of a loved one or a colleague. The goal is to have someone in every home and office in the U-S that knows this life saving technique. About 600 people have taken the course in Omaha. Price says every minute that C-P-R is delayed reduces a cardiac victim’s chance of survival by 10-percent. Sudden cardiac arrest claims the lives of 300-thousand people in the U-S each year.
