It is official. The N-C-A-A and College World Series Incorporated has inked a 25-year contract to host the Men’s College World Series in Omaha through 2035. N-C-A-A President Dr. Miles Brand says today’s contract is unprecedented for a collegiate championship. He stated that the relationship is built on mutual trust. He added the nearly 60-year association between Omaha and the College World Series is a natural. The contract was sealed with the city’s commitment to build a new downtown ballpark. Dr. Brand says this facility will serve the series well.
This is the first time in N-C-A-A history a 25 year contract has been signed with a city to host a championship tournament.
The deal was signed Tuesday morning in what are now parking lots C and E of the Qwest Center parking lot downtown. That is the future site of the new downtown ballpark.
