Creighton Prep will become the first school in the state of Nebraska to test student-athletes for anabolic steroids and other performance enhancing drugs.
The private school will start testing it’s athletes beginning this fall. Also, the town of Overton, with a population under 700 will begin random drug testing with more emphasis put on recreational drugs.
Superintendent Mark Aten of Overton told the Lincoln Journal they’ve been testing kids for about four years and almost all of the kids are receptive to the idea.
At Creighton, 6 to 10 boys will be randomly selected from a pool of names to submit to urine tests and will have 24 hours to comply.
