Additional charges have been filed against a Sunol man accused of stabbing his neighbor.Fifty-four-year-old Randy Booth now faces six felony charges including First Degree Assault, Using a Deadly Weapon to Commit a Felony, and four counts of Possession of a Firearm by a felon. The charges were filed this morning (Thursday) and read to Booth at his arraignment in Cheyenne County Court.
Booth was arrested Tuesday night after allegedly stabbing his neighbor Jerry Steen in the abdomen with a six-inch knife. An affidavit states Steen went to Booth?s house to confront him about ongoing disturbances involving the two families with children. The affidavit states Booth pulled out a knife and stabbed Steen one time.
Steen was taken by ambulance to the Intensive Care Unit at Memorial Health Center in Sidney. As of this morning (Thursday) he’s listed in stable condition.
Booth is being held in the local jail on ten percent of $75,000 bond. A preliminary hearing in the case is slated for June 23rd.
Sunol is approximately 10 miles east of Sidney in Nebraska’s Southern Panhandle.
