After three hours of sitting around trying to wait out the rain, the LSU-North Carolina game was finally suspended and will resume tonight just after 6pm.
When play resumes, the Tar Heels will have bases loaded and one out in the first inning and a 2-0 lead. LSU’s coach Paul Mainieri is playing it close to the vest saying he doesn’t know who will pitch now for the Tigers.
So the schedule has been changed a bit. This is the only game today. Getting pushed back to tomorrow is the Stanford-Georgia game which they will play at 1pm. If Georgia wins, they advance to the championship series. If Stanford wins, then they’ll play again Sunday for the elimination game. Sunday is typically a day-off.
Fresno State will play the winner of LSU-UNC at on Saturday at 6pm and again Sunday is open should Fresno State lose Saturday night. This is just the 8th time in 30 years a CWS game has been suspended.
