Eight counties are sharing some cash going to substance abuse programs. Nearly $300,000 dollars from the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is being shared. The major goal is to keep our young people from doing drugs. Loup City, Walthill, and Grand Island along with Sidney, Norfolk, and Kearney are getting about $40,000 dollars each. Nebraska City is getting $15,000. The money is going for things such as after school programs, Drug outpatient treatments for kids, and training for teachers.
