A 39 year old Omaha man faces first degree murder and weapons charges after Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine says his wife, Sonia, was found dead inside their home earlier this week. Kleine says Mrs. Rix was murdered by some kind of cutting instrument and her throat was slashed. There is also evidence of strangulation.
Rix was arrested after he jumped from a mid-town Omaha building Monday. He had with him their four year old son. The boy was not hurt. That led authorities to a home at 118th and Cryer.
Inside the home were twin one-year-old boys. They were not hurt.
