The Lincoln Saltdogs snapped their six-game losing streak Wednesday night, beating Sioux City 6-5 improving their record to 1-1 in the second half of the 2008 season.
Lincoln starter Jason Jarvis (1-4) earned his first win as a professional, allowing three runs on six hits in five innings of work. Unlike his first start last week, the Saltdogs gave him some runs to work with early on. Skip Adams cracked a two-run double in the third inning to score the first runs of the game, and the Dogs added another run in the fifth when Corey Harrington scored on a throwing error.
Joe Dempsey went 2-for-4 with two runs batted in and Shea McFeely also had two hits each for Lincoln, and Harrington scored a pair of runs.
The Saltdogs and Explorers play the finale of their three-game series Wednesday night at 7:05. Ryan Dittfurth will start for Lincoln, and Nick Singleton for Sioux City.
