It’s been a great couple of days for Nebraska law enforcement, but not so hot for drug dealers. Three traffic stops on Interstate 80 have netted the Nebraska State Patrol some 345 pounds of marijuana, along with five arrests.
On Saturday, a state trooper pulled over a car for speeding near Kearney and found 35 pounds of pot, arresting a man from Maryland. On Friday, another trooper caught a speeder near Grand Island carrying 90 pounds of pot and arrested two Arizona residents.
The biggest pot bust was last Thursday, when a car stopped on I-80 near Omaha for following too closely contained 220 pounds of marijuana. Two men, from California and Oregon, were jailed.
