Two tornadoes were reported in far southwest Nebraska on Monday afternoon.
The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for parts of Perkins County near Grant just before 4 PM Mountain Time after the public reported seeing a tornado on the ground about 15 miles south of Big Springs.
Less than ten minutes later, trained spotters reported seeing a tornado on the ground approximately 11 miles southwest of Ogallala, prompting the service to issue a separate tornado warning for southern Keith County.
Each warning lasted about 45 minutes and no other reports of tornadoes came in during the warnings. So far, no injuries or substantial damage have been reported.
