After crunching the numbers, the Department of Health and Human Services report they provided $11-million in food stamp relief to 23, 557 households statewide. The food stamp distribution was to help those who lost power to their homes after severe weather in June and July. The program was designed to help low income people restock their pantries after flooding and massive power outages. There were nine distribution sites open in Lexington, Kearney, Ceresco, Schuyler and Omaha. The last site closed on July 21st.
