Cool weather and low humidity ruled at day 3 of the Huskers fall practice. Everything appears well on the injury front, although Sophomore offensive tackle Jaivorio Burkes sat out of practice for the third straight day while attending medical issues, but the set back is not expected to be much trouble.
The Huskers will have single practices today and Friday before having their first two day session on Saturday.
One battle many inside the Husker camp are watching is for the back-up role to starting quarterback Joe Ganz. Patrick Witt comes in on the depth chart as the number two QB, with Zac Lee behind him, but each QB is getting an even share of reps under center as they battle for that slot.
Witt redshirted last year and graduated early from high school in Wylie Texas. The 4.0 GPA student athlete will be given every shot at winning the back-up job. Offensive coordinate Shawn Watson is also pleased with the
