The Husker volleyball program is in what many are saying is a rebuilding year. Rome wasn’t built in a day, but this team appears to be close.
Sophomore Tara Mueller totaled a career-high 15 kills, to help rally a Husker comeback in the final game, as No. 7 Nebraska topped second-ranked Stanford, 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 26-24) at the AVCA Showcase Friday night at the Qwest Center.
Then, behind a match-high 18 kills from All-American Jordan Larson yesterday, seventh-ranked Nebraska downed No. 4 USC, 3-1 (25-27, 25-19, 25-17, 25-18)
The Huskers, who improved to 2-0 on the season with wins over two of the top four teams in the country.
