Joe McLain completed 25 of 42 passes for 250 yards and five touchdowns Saturday afternoon as No. 13 ranked Chadron State defeated Western New Mexico 43-17 in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference game.
The Eagles also rushed for 228 yards and Travis Atter booted three field goals and four extra points as Chadron State improved to 6-1 for the season and 5-0 in the RMAC. It was CSC’s 23rd consecutive conference victory.
While Chadron State’s offense was rolling up a season-high 493 yards, the defense limited the winless Western New Mexico to 102 yards. The Mustangs finished with a negative 30 yards rushing.
McLain has now thrown for 58 touchdowns, fourth highest in Chadron State history, and for 7,002 yards to rank fifth on the Eagles’ all-time list.
