If you heard head coach Bo Pelini’s comments after the game about this team not being satisfied with the win and still more that needs to be fixed that may be the case, but Pelini had plenty of praise to go around for their 35-7 effort and first Big 12 win of the year.
It starts with quarterback Joe Ganz. He’s completing 70% of his passes on the season, 27 of 37 in this game for 328 yards.
Nate Swift also got singled out for his great play in the game by Pelini. Swift caught Ganz’ touchdown pass and pulled in 8 receptions for 112 yards.
Up 21-0, Iowa State looked like they might make this a game, Alexander Robinson on their second play of the second half rattled off a 67 yard touchdown run to close to 21-7. Pelini says the team is headed in the right direction, they just need to eliminate those big plays.
Pelini never made a prediction on wins and losses, but he did say this team would prepare the right way, play hard and get better as the season went on, and he reiterated that statement and guaranteed good things to come.
