Remarkable first year turnaround. 56-28 win at K-State where there has been some bad blood brewing. A big game for quarterback Joe Ganz. He rushed for a career high 95 yards and threw for 270 yards in the win.
It was Joe’s running that opened up the passing game and head coach Bo Pelini said Ganz made some good decisions.
Ganz scored twice on the ground and threw for two more scores, while directing a Nebraska offense that amassed over 600 total yards. His 270 yards passing gave him 3,103 yards through the air this season, as he joined Zac Taylor as the only quarterbacks in school history to throw for 3,000 yards in a single season. Ganz is now just 95 yards shy of passing Taylor’s school-record total of 3,197 which he should break against Colorado.
While it was a 28 point win, they also allowed 28 points, so there are still some mistakes and mental errors that need to be cleaned up from Pelini’s perspective.
Now the Huskers have some time off. They’re next game on that traditional Friday after Thanksgiving against Colorado at Memorial Stadium. Coming up later this week more on this win, plus we’ll start looking at some bowl projections.
