An eastern Nebraska company is recalling two of its products because of the risk they might be contaminated with salmonella.
Omaha-based Marathon Ventures says the products contain nuts that were produced by the Peanut Corporation of America, which is at the focus of the investigation. Marathon’s 40-ounce cans of dry-roasted Herman’s Nut House peanuts were distributed in several states.
Marathon is also recalling its Pear’s Gourmet chocolate bridge mix which was sold in 16-ounce bags.
Some 900 separate food items have been recalled nationwide because of the salmonella outbreak, which is blamed for hundreds of illnesses and at least eight deaths.
