The Missouri Tigers are waiting for a rematch with the Nebraska Cornhuskers this Saturday in front of what will be a sold out Mizzou Arena. They are hoping for a much better performance than the 56-51 loss they suffered on January 10th in Lincoln.
We will see a different Missouri basketball team. They’ve won three in a row which includes big wins at Texas and Iowa State and Monday’s win over KU. In that KU game, it wasn’t pretty, but the Tigers never quit. I see a lot of similarities between the Tigers and the Huskers in terms of playing good team defense and hustling every minute.
The Huskers are playing well too. They’ve won three in a row and they are coming off of the win over Texas. What impresses me with Nebraska is they don’t have a player over 6’8, yet even in a game against the Longhorns who have three players who are 6’10, they were only outrebounded by four. They hustle and play hard for coach Doc Sadler.
Players to watch for Mizzou. Senior forward DeMarre Carroll is the only player in the Big 12 to rank among the Top 10 in scoring, rebounding, field goal percentage and steals. Junior guard Zaire Taylor has hit two game winners in Mizzou last three games and J.T. Tiller is one of the Big 12 top defenders.
