A Bill that would require county attornies in small communities to have two years of prior law experience is moving forward in the state legislature. However, the same requirement is not being extended to people wanting to be attorney general. Speaker Mike Flood.
“I just don’t see how you get elected, I’ve been told by folks outside the glass this is fine we can regulate what the requirememnts are for attorney general, it just seems a little odd to me though that we’re going into one constitutional office and we’re prescribing what the minimum requirements are when the constitution pretty much speaks to those matters.”
Flood wonders whether or not the legislature should be setting the provisions for constitutional officers.
