Cabela’s is announcing some positive sales numbers for the fourth quarter of 2008. The company released its figures Thursday and reports a retail store revenue increase of 6.9% in the fiscal fourth quarter of 2008. The Company says 2008 total revenue increased 8.6 percent to a record $2.6 billion.
Company President and CEO Dennis Highby says, “We are excited about our fourth quarter performance where we recorded our largest increase in same store sales in over a year.” Same-store sales increased 2.2 percent in the fourth quarter.
Highby attributes the revenue increases in part to increased firearm and accessory sales.
Cabela’s opened two new stores in 2008, Scarborough, Maine and Rapid City, South Dakota.
